Cedex HiRes Cell Analyzer

The Cedex HiRes is the latest generation in automated cell analyzers "made by Roche Innovatis AG". It automates the Trypan Blue exclusion method, the gold standard for the determination of cell concentration and viability within cell cultivation and fermentation processes.

The Cedex HiRes stains samples with Trypan Blue, analyzes the images generated through an outstanding scanner technology (patent pending), and presents the results directly on the monitor. This unique scanner technology, as well as the flow chamber design, allows for a significant increase in resolution. The system closely resembles the manual counting method.

Because the Cedex HiRes works with the digital images of cells, morphological parameters such as diameter and compactness are also determined. Information about the amount of aggregation found in cell samples is also available. Objects from 1-90 µm can be recognized by this software technology.
