The Spot-Light HER2 DNA probe and CISH (chromogenic in situ hybridization) kit for chromogenic detection of gene amplification in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues produces a signal that is viewed under a standard brightfield microscope. The gene amplification is strongly associated with protein overexpression. The kit enables gene amplification to be observed in the context of the surrounding tissue morphology. The probe was constructed to remove repetitive DNA sequences, resulting in a strong detection signal with low background. In addition, it eliminates the need for an extra blocking step.
